Recruitment of Volunteer Teachers
2/20/2009
Noting the imminent extinction tendencies of some Nigerian Languages among our youth in the diaspora, arrangements have been put in place to set up a database of volunteer teachers of All Nigerian languages to teach interested second and succeeding generations of Nigerian-American children, as well as other interested persons, any Nigerian language(s) of their choice, free of charge. The minimum number of any class is five "pupils". Due to its symbolism, the pioneer classroom will be located in Nigerian House, New York, to be immediately followed by Nigerian Language learning centres all through the Consulate's area of coverage spanning twenty of US's North-East and Mid-West states. To this end, interested Nigerians that are willing to volunteer and are proficient in the teaching of the language, should complete this form below and submit to the Consulate for necessary action. Kindly note that teaching kits will be procured and made available by the Consulate.
